Jean M. Treece

Jean M. Treece is a partner and successful litigator in the firm. Ms. Treece focuses her practice in complex litigation, with an emphasis in constructions claims, product liability, premises liability, landlord-tenant, dram shop and commercial and business contract disputes. Ms. Treece has successfully litigated personal injury claims, property damage or loss actions resulting from breach of contract, fire loss, and accident claims involving construction sites, boats, automobiles, trucks, and slip and falls.

Ms. Treece specializes in limiting clients' exposure to loss ensuring that clients adopt the correct regulatory compliance programs to minimize litigation as well as avoid MIOSHA and OSHA violations.

Ms. Treece serves as a certified ICLE-trained civil facilitator in multiple Michigan Circuit Courts.

Representative Client Work

Ms. Treece won a favorable verdict on behalf of a boat manufacturer following a five day Muskegon County Jury trial defending her client from claims of negligence, breach of contract and violations of the Michigan Consumer Protection Act.

Ms. Treece has defended general contractors, subcontractors and product manufacturers from personal injury actions and property damage claims exceeding $1,000,000.

By initiating dispositive motions on behalf of restaurants, apartment complexes and store owners, Ms. Treece has saved many clients the expense of a lengthy trial obtaining numerous dismissals of premises liability claims pertaining to serious injuries. In an employee death case, Ms. Treece won a dismissal of all alleged MIOSHA violations against her client.
